New pool built 2025!
One of the very few remaining original 1930’s beach cottages, located within the block to the ocean on Florence Street and just a few minutes' walk to the Village. Our charming cottage is nestled beneath massive Live Oak trees draped with Spanish moss and is the epitome of laid-back island living. Lovingly restored, Palmetto Cottage is full of original details and unique features that are nearly 100 years old complimented with modern convinces you expect.

THE SPACE
Entry to Palmetto Cottage is on the main deck level, next door to The Treehouse. From here you are in the open Family room (sleeper sofa) with a smart TV, Dining table for 8 guest and a generous sized kitchen with a single serve and drip style coffee makers, and a blender.

Behind family room is a laundry room with washer and dryer. And off the family room is an open deck area shaded by Live Oaks.

Down the hall is a bathroom with a shower, King Size bedroom with small sunroom (ideal for a pack-n-play, provided by the owner). Across the hall is an additional King Size bedroom with adjoining bathroom with combination tub/shower.

Sneak upstairs to the loft where you can retreat to a queen size bed. This is a cute little hideaway.
Enjoy the screened in front porch with a dining table, porch swing and 2 side chairs.

Note: This home is connected via a breezeway to the adjacent house, The Treehouse. The breezeway connects to The Treehouse's garage via a locked door. You will not have access to The Treehouse garage and Treehouse guests will not be able to access Palmetto Cottage.

If you need more space, consider renting both!

Located on the south end of the Island, St. Simons Pier Village district serves as the downtown social hub and is a popular destination for shopping, dining and gathering on the pier and nearby lighthouse, playground and picnic areas. Overlooking the ocean and Jekyll Island across the way, you'll find the St. Simons Lighthouse and Museum, Neptune Park with its ocean side pool and facilities, playground, miniature golf course, and an oak shaded picnic area, fishing pier, public library and theater.

Beach Gear Included!: This home offers beach gear such as beach chairs and beach towels FREE for your use! Bikes, carts, paddleboards and more are available for rent locally, discount included. There are no fees or surcharges attached to your reservation.

Pets: This is not a pet friendly home.

Heated Pool: This property offers a heated pool option. The cost is $75/night+tax and can be added up to 48 hours before arrival. Let us know if you'd like to heat the pool!

No Smoking: No smoking is allowed in the home, on the porches/patios/decks, or on the property in general.

Minimum Age: Must be 25 + to book, or age 30 + on GAFL weekend (last weekend in October) For GAFL weekend (last weekend in October), guests must be age 30 + or kids with their parents, no student groups. We cannot make exceptions for that weekend.

No Events: No events or parties. No overnight guests beyond the original booking group.
